The Store GP Mix pie chart shows Gross Profit by Product broken down by product hierarchy (Department / Class / Sub-class). The Gross Profit by Product value is the dollar amount of Sales less Cost of Sales, and optionally includes total Scan according to the filter selected.
Gross Profit by Product = Sales - Cost of Sales
Gross Profit Variance clustered column chart shows Gross Profit Variance % broken down by product hierarchy and sorted by value. Gross Profit Variance % is the difference between Gross Profit by Product this year versus last as a percentage of last year's value.
Gross Profit Variance = [ Gross Profit by Product (this year) - Gross Profit by Product (last year) ] / Gross Profit by Product (last year)
The Region GP Mix pie chart shows the same information as the Store GP Mix pie chart but the Gross Profit by Product is the average for a store in the selected region.
The Regional GP Opportunity by Department clustered column chart shows the opportunity to earn more if the sales were made at the same Gross Profit Percent as the regional average. This comparison is at a percentage level, not a total dollar value, so it is possible that a store could have a higher proportion of sales of a particular department compared to the region, but still have an opportunity in that department if the GP % is less than the regional average.
Regional GP Opportunity =
if GP % >= 0 Regional GP % then 0
else [Regional GP % - GP %] x Sales
